Could be, but I don't remember hearing of a big move for the Lemon forums? Still down....

I think this/these dissapering sites is a huge threat to our hobby, what can we do about this?

The owner can die or ran out of interest....

Even so, you would think that there would be some kind of advance notice. Plus, Kim Lemon hasn't been an active member on the forum for years but that hasn't stopped him from keeping it going all this time.

Just took a look around and there are a couple of threads like this on Atari Age and Gamebase 64. Mayhem has responded on GB64 and, although he doesn't seem to know much more than we do, he suspects the host provider has messed up the payment details which is what happened before.

Thousands of clever words could be lost forever, I find this very disturbing...
Not that I am an very active member on Lemon-64 but lots of these old sites are dead link already.

Personally I am grapping me a copy when I find an interesting site and my plan is to mirror some of them when time comes

Yeah, when the site went offline before, it's because the hosting bill for the month hadn't been paid due to a cockup somewhere in the line. Probably the same has happened here.

If there's a site you're worried about, you can let archive.org know and they will back it up.
That's about all I know - I don't know how it works, how you let archive.org know, how quickly they respond, how to get to the backed up forums, etc etc.

I'm starting to think it might be down for the count.

That would be a terrible shame. I'm not aware of any other C64 boards as broadly accessible (the CSDB site is very much for sceners only, not for more casual users like me)

Something about this just doesn't make sense. Is there really no one out there who can contact Kim or the host provider to find out what the deal is?

lifeschool mentioned something about the move in this EAB thread, sounds like a new host has been sorted but with no firm date yet.
