Weird. What do you suppose the chances of that are? If another Golan shows up I'll eat* my VIC-20.

* And by eat I mean not eat.
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

Sending a PM to discuss this. :)

Thanks!

Just tested the expander and all I get is a blank screen like you get with a faulty 6561 chip. When I turned the VIC on without the expander, I got the standard VIC screen as usual.

Does this indicate a faulty expander or is it more likely down to something I'm not doing properly?

Hmm... I wish I knew... I don't know much about VIC-20 hardware. :(

The question was aimed more at Denial members in general. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Check to make sure there is not a short between any of the address bus or data bus pins of expander.

I was just browsing through eBay.com and came across this expander:

It's a little expensive but it seems to be new so maybe it's worth a try... :)

Hi Pedro,

Thank you for the link. :) I saw that on eBay the other day and looked up information on the CardBoard 3. Unfortunately, it simply allows you to plug in multiple cartridges and tries using all the cartridges that are plugged in at the same time. I actually need to switch from one cartridge to another. From the sounds of it, I may just be out of luck.

Maybe I'll just have to have two VIC-20s setup. One for each cartridge. :) Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for my Final Expansion 3 to show up. :(

Hey... that's the one I have! It came bare when I picked it up in another person's collection, and so, I didn't have any information on it. Now I have more info... Thanks, Pedro!

I also have the same.

Not for using more than one cartridge but for measurement purposes. A cartridge within a VIC hides all pins.
