FE3 hardware documentation?

FE3 hardware documentation?
Is there a clearer description of the registers of the Final Expansion 3 cart than the User Manual? I've tried to extract a summary of the modes but there's still a few areas that aren't too clear to me.

if you can read C - the VICE source is always a good reference
I'm just a Software Guy who has no Idea how the Hardware works. Don't listen to me.
Re: FE3 hardware documentation?
Ah, ok. Hadn't thought of that. I did once try to enable FE in VICE but couldn't work out how to.
Re: FE3 hardware documentation?
Is there any documentation on the DIP switches? From the schematic it is clear that 1 & 2 control the device number. It seems that 3 is unused but 4 is somehow connected to the RESET line of the ATMEGA.

Re: FE3 hardware documentation?
Here's what the DIP switch settings do.
1 - Drive Number
2 - Drive Number
3 - Cartridge Enable
4 - SD2IEC Reset
Switch 3 enables or disables the FE3 cartridge. The SD2IEC is always enabled so this switch only affects the other FE3 functions.
Switch 4 controls whether or not the SD2IEC is reset when using the full reset button. On the Rev 10, this button is blue. On the Rev 11, this button is black.

Thanks Heather, I'll add a section to my manual for this.

I don't have the exact combinations for the drive number switch settings with me but I'll post them here tonight so you have the exact switch settings for each drive number.

From the schematic it looks to be:
S1 off, S2 off = 8
S1 on, S2 off = 9
S1 off, S2 on = 10
S1 on, S2 on = 11
S1 off, S2 off = 8
S1 on, S2 off = 9
S1 off, S2 on = 10
S1 on, S2 on = 11

Re: FE3 hardware documentation?
I confirmed all your drive number switches on the Rev 11.

They copied the DIP switch scheme from the 1541-IIsrowe wrote:From the schematic it looks to be:

Re: FE3 hardware documentation?
OK, I've added a new appendix and uploaded a new version of the document and PDF.
