"reinstall"? I would like to upgrade my file browser to the latest version. How are you doing this?

Yes. There's a Mega-Cart version of SJLOAD that can be installed into NVRAM, i.e. it remains there even after a power-cycle (or prolonged power off, for that matter). However, it's not especially resistant against being overwritten by other software that thrashes that address range.

Simply put, you don't. The Easyload file browser is contained in the ROM portion of Mega-Cart and can't be changed, replaced or upgraded.

Is the declared ETA of 10-12 weeks still plausible?

It is probably fair to say that the 10-12 weeks is not accurate.

I placed my order on February 16, 2013. Order confirmation was received on April 17, 2013. No word since. I suspect life got in the way and the project has been put on indefinite hold.

I'll still happily buy one if they ever become available!

The schematics of Mega-Cart have not been made public. That makes it at least a little more difficult to reproduce the cartridge compared to FE3, where schematics, CPLD firmware source and FE3 menu ROM source are open and have been archived by several people.

6502dude posted here in the meantime on April 12th, 2015 confirming he then still built them.

I suppose an enquiry by you to info(at)mega-cart(dot)com should be in order. Mind you, this is a project done as spare-time and weekend activity, and perhaps your order just got lost. Maybe he'll even put you near the start of the queue if you ask nicely. :)

^ Done.

In the past I sent other inquiry emails usually on or around the anniversary of my order, but after no replies since 2014 I figured the project was dead. Life gets in the way of the best laid plans.

I was pretty disappointed at one point, but no money exchanged hands so it isn't worth getting too bent out of shape over. I've had far worse experiences with most Kickstarter and Ingiegogo projects :D

I tried to contact the Mega-Cart team about six months ago. I asked if there was anything I could do to help produce this wonderful cartridge. Unfortunately, I never received a reply. :(

I registered my interest about Jan 2016. I have fe3, penultimate and behr bonz in the meantime. I still would take a mega cart if anyone will take up the project again.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but this was the latest I found in a search.

Would love to get one of these things, but the info at mega-cart dot com email address bounced when I sent an inquiry today. Anyone know if these are still being produced and sold?

The cart seems enabled so it looked like it would have happily taken my money, but reluctant to fire in a payment until I get some current info.

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

I "ordered" a Mega-cart 3 years ago and no news since... so... we can consider the project is definitely DEAD... :D

Thanks....sadness. :(

Looks like the Penultimate Cart is next best option?

However it has far fewer carts, and doesn't have HesMon (which I've lusted after for years).

Both the two main developers of Mega-Cart, 6502dude and nbla000, made their last post here in Denial in 2015. :(

That, or Final Expansion 3, or UltiMem.

You could always soft-load HESMON into BLK5 (and - if necessary - write-protect it there), with the aforementioned carts. Should be O.K.ish, even if the tool is not available immediately at the start-up prompt.
(which I've lusted after for years).
...

P.S. just try to use any command of HESMON to peek into itself (it's located in the range $A000..$AFFF). HES *seriously* included checks into the commands to "prevent" the user from doing this.
