Basic Archive

Post by 6502dude »

Way back in the early 1990's there were many sites which had lots of basic program archived (ie. Simtel).

Most of these sites seem to have disappeared.

Since my programming skills are not great, I would like to review code from functional programs to see what I can learn.

I have several flavours of basic in use on various systems

Vic-20 - Basic 2
C128 - Basic 7, Basic 8
DOS - Quickbasic 4.5
6502SBC - EhBasic (thanks Leeee)
Kaypro 10 - MBasic 5.2 & S-Basic

I'm not looking for machine specific prgrams, but I am willing to adapt samples as part of learning process.

So, I'm looking for an online archive.

Any idea where I may find a good one :?:

http://www.moorecad.com/classicbasic/index.html

.. good in that it has source code and explains quite a bit about translating for your particulat dialect of BAISC

wow, what a collection of programs.

i am amazed at how small some of the code is, and how it gets so much done.

Thanks for the link. I had visited the site before a couple of times in the past.

I actually had a TTY ARS33 (as pictured on the site) up until about 6 years ago when I moved about 1,000 miles and could not take all my "treasures" with me.

I still have 8 new rolls of TTY paper.....but no TTY
