MOD volunteers and nominations

Post by Jeff-20 »

I am restructuring the moderator priviledges. Does anyone want to volunteer (or nominate a peer) to be moderator for a particular section of the forum?

Responibilities include deleting, moving, splitting, and general supervision of the discussion in your particular section. We now have nine sections and may expand to more. Your initial task may be to scan the subject lines and move topics out of your section to the appropriate one.

There will be two or three mods for each section demending on the level of interest. You need not be an expert, just interested in reading that particular area.

Thanks for helping the community 8)

While you're working on the forum, please lock the Hardware section for guests, just like the other parts. Since it currently is the only place where spammers can post without logging in, this is where all the casinos have went recently.

How about unlocking all the sections for read access only? I usually only bother with the general topics and hardware sections because they don't require me to log in to read them. Now with just the general topics available without needing to login I probably won't bother at all.

I think I'm the one of the mods who most often have moved topics in the past... I think it's a privelidge so I am happy to continue...

i like the idea of one person per section.

reminds me of my time being a librarian's helper in high school, where each helper was repsonsible for a certain series in the Dewey system.
