FE3 SD-Card Collection
Hi,
i'm working on a FE3-SD-Card-Collection.
Here's my BETA v0.2 so you can take a look to this project, and have (more) fun with your FE3.
Get it Here (don't forget to "disable" the "downloadmanager" -> hook on the DL-side)
Just unpack the content to the root of your SD-Card , so you have :
SD-Cart root
-Folder [FE]
-loader [file]
Put the SD-Cart into your FE3 - press F3 and you'll see the main menue.....
This project is similar to dabone's FE Cart Collection.
But the different is, this Collection will contain all games, demos, tools which are available as *.prg, *.d64 or cartridge-image.
Unfortunately the Final Expansion 3, does not suppport *.tap or *.t64 files, yet.
So there are about 300-350 " *.tap-games only" which i can't add to this Collection.
If you have the knowledge to dump those *.tap files to *.prg's, please let me know , and i'll give you a list a this *.tap-files. (or look at Mayhem's GB)
Well, i've created a "tree" of loader-menues for the FE3-Collection -> looks like this :
-My Favorites (you can put in your fav. games by editing the "loader" file)
-All Games (sorted by letter)
-License
--commercial
--freeware
--type-ins
-Genre
--need to create it...
- Denial Top 40 (have to start a poll here...
- Forum64 Top 40 (same here...)
-Demos
--favorite demos (edit by you like fav. games)
--group/autor
--all demos (sorted by letter)
-Tools
--by "genre"
--all tools (sorted by letter)
O.K. - what have i done, and what's todo :
Done :
-80% of the menue-tree
-Games A-T added to menue All Games (by letter) (that's about 1700 games, yet)
-Games A-C also sorted by license
To do :
-Add Games U-Z to menue All Games (by letter)
-Add Games D-Z to subfolders license commercial-freeware-type ins
-Add All the Demos & Tools
-Betatesting....Betatesting....
For Germanspeaking Users :
Here is the Project on Forum64
EDIT:
you may need the unofficial FE3-Firmware R022 (Attachment) to see all menues correctly.

Re: FE3 SD-Card Collection
Awesome - this is way beyond where I got to with my FE3.
What is your method - are you editing a text file on the PC to paste into the menu files or all by hand on the Vic?
Do you need any help?

Re: FE3 SD-Card Collection
Yep - I create the text-files on PC. Do a short test with VICE / Finalexpansions-Image.
I need to test many games on real VIC.
So, if you want to help - Download the BETA (maybe update your FE3 Firmware to 0R22) ,
and test the Games on your VIC
I allready know some prg's that don't work yet on real VIC....(some Romik titles iirr)
Also some games don't start automatically.....most on 8k or 16k games....
Here you need to start them manually (F1 = ram manager) (select ram configuration)
And type i.e. : Load"bef4bc70.prg",8
(All Games are renamed to their CRC32 Checksumm for some reasons.)
Betatesters are welcome

Re: FE3 SD-Card Collection
Great project! You may also take a look at my FE3 collection . I'm currently doing a Mega-Cart collection, to be used as a complement to the MC, in conjunction with a SD2IEC device.

Re: FE3 SD-Card Collection
FE3-firmware-update to version R022D can be found here: FE3firmware R022D.
This small update is based on firmware-revision R021. All sources (from version R022D and R021) are included. Now the loader-files will not overwrite the screen anymore.
Fixed:
All RAM available for loader-files. This has already been fixed by dabone (Thanks a lot for that!) in an earlier fe3-firmware-revision: FE3 Loader Menu..What am I doing wrong?? Megacart Rom conv.
Best regards,
Dirk

Re: FE3 SD-Card Collection
How bad that Dabone's cart collection was on Megaupload and Diddl web is down.
I built the cartridge just a pair of weeks ago and I've been trying your collection and looks very good, all the roms I've tried worked perfect! Good work!
Have you had time to add more stuff? How you do it? I mean... how do you edit the loader files? Any PETSCII editor for Windows or should I code one by myself?
I'm quite new with all this stuff but I want to learn so I can contribute myself too.

Re: FE3 SD-Card Collection
Hi,
an update for the FE3-Collection is in work.
The loaders are edited with the simple "windows-editor".
You can see a few more infos on the german Forum64
