My Amiga 1000 is trying drive me crazy..

Post by Mikam73 »

Everything started maybe one month ago. A1000 didn't boot kick start anymore. I find one A1000 owner at Finnish forum who was willing to test my disc drive with his Amiga. Everything work fine and got my disc drive back. Amiga just didn't boot kick start. It load a little and ask disk
again. Because disc drive keep extra noise I take computer a part again. Guess what today kick start booted again. When computer was open at kitchen table. I put everything together again. Power light didn't come back anymore. She was like dead. Take everything a part again. Amiga boots. Everything back together. I have loads on screws that didn't find their place but machine keeps together. Boots just fine. I carry computer back living room and put 1084S Back top of it. Guess what kick start doesn't boot anymore. Everyone says that google is your best friend so I did google.. I find out that my Amiga 1000 boot kick start just fine if I hold monitor up at air when boot kick start.. Everything ok but hands got tired.. Ok.. Now kick start boots if monitor is off when boot kick start. Then turn monitor on and boot games...

OMG, that sucks man. But I love this story, because it tells you just how far an Amiga owner will go to keep their rig working. Good for you! 8)

This is what I find. I just couldn't believe that it's monitors fault. But I haven't had any problem before. I wonder how common this problem is and is monitor safe to use anymore..
