Denial Forum acting strange?

Post by PhilRanger »

Hello,

I don't know if it is just with me, but this forum doesn't really work anymore under Chrome (have to reload almost every page, images broken, can't post) and under Internet Explorer I don't see anymore the categories that have new posts in color. Anyone else?

working fine for me on Chrome in Oman.

I see the coloured commodore logo on the forum sections with new posts and all images work.

Try resetting your router, this cured my issues at home a month ago.

joshuadenmark has been working for a month on upgrading the severely dated software. There may be brief interruptions or anomalies when the change takes place.

Hi

I am not working on the forum at this moment.

But i will come with a warning before the actual update, having a bit of trouble moving the database...

More to come
Kind regards, Peter.

One thing I've noticed is that you're required to log in to view the contents of the forum.

I'm not sure if that's an intentional change or not, but I think that giving read access to outsiders makes it easier for search engines to index the site and allow lurkers who are casual VIC-20 fans to read it.

I haven't done any changes to this forum, only worked with a backup version. Maby Jeff can reply if he has done any changes?
Kind regards, Peter.

Ah, yes, I should make it more accessible again. I should point out that membership has increased since those restrictions were made. I think it motivated some of the casual lurkers to sign up. But I agree that keeping it open for strangers to read would bring more traffic via search engines.
