hahaha. Missed that myself. But I was a bit suspicious anyway because the upper and lower part of the case was yellowed differently.
PRG Starter - a VICE helper / Vic Software (Boray Gammon, SD2IEC music player, Vic Disk Menu, Tribbles, Mega Omega, How Many 8K etc.)
This is sort of strange. I have a keyboard like that, but I took it out of a two prong VIC and put it in a later cost-reduced VIC. I thought this was just an old keyboard in a newer VIC, but the badge is also old. Maybe the whole top portion is old, and the guts are CR. I don't know. I'm no expert on the history of VIC production in the states.
Very obviously a bastard child, I'm afraid. If the CR power plug wasn't a dead giveaway, the mismatched fading between the two halves of the case definitely gives the game away. I've seen indented (Non-PET style) keyboards on 2 Prong first REV boards, but not PET-style keyboards on CR boards.
For a nice, GENUINE early example, http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7045/6984 ... 9a07_o.jpg (Japanese-made Vic20, complete with pre-FCC approval waiver) is a more authentic example.
