Happy Easter from Mike and Orion! Here's our gift...

Post by orion70 »

The VIC-20 Bible Series I: Gospels, Acts of Apostles, and Revelation

...a wonderful program to browse through the New Testament (King James version), with the possibility to choose a single chapter in the four Gospels, Acts of the Apostles, or Apocalypse (Revelation). In the *.d81 image (download) you will also find graphic depictions of the book covers, and the main episodes in the life of Jesus and His Apostles.

The program was realized using the Minigrafik tools for handling text output and graphics, and proves to be an excellent example of how many things can be done with Mike's product.

To easily launch the program, extract BIBLE3.ZIP in the VICE main folder, and double-click the CMD file enclosed.

You can use the program d81trans (link) to transfer the *.d81 file to an actual 3 1/2" disk for use on a 1581.

We hope you will appreciate it, as much as we had fun developing it.
HAVE YOURSELF A HAPPY (from Mike) HAPPY (from Orion) EASTER!

Mike and Orion70

Another great work from Orion and, of course, Mike. This is not a program, is pure art. thanks

Thank you and a happy Easter to you too! :)

This is certainly an interesting project. Are we going to see others in the series at specific times of the year?

I can't get to a computer just now to try it out but I must say the screenies look gorgeous - a true labour of love methinks! :)

Thank you guys.
If someone wants to know more about technical features of the BROWSE (main) program, ask Mike: there are interesting applications, such as text handling via SYS calls, which I don't know much of. He will be able to explain better than me  .
I was dedicated almost exclusively to the images, and I hope you like them. :D

Cool! Thanks!

Happy Easter everyone!

(Hmmm, does this mean I have to add .D81 support to PRG Starter? ;) )

This is neat! What a different idea for VIC-20 software!

I wonder if this means the VIC-20 is now serious competition for the Kindle!

Easter Gift

Post by Snogpitch »

Thanks for the Easter gift. I can't help but wonder what kind of time frame was involved in this project. I've been looking for a bible program for the Vic20 over the last year and have not had any luck. I had not lost hope that one day I would stumble across one, and did not consider asking here if anyone knew of such a program.

So, I'll ask it now. Is this the only bible software for the Vic20?

And yet another question, will the other books of the Bible be added as additional packages or disks?

I am glad I purchased my MegaCart, it will make it easy to run this program on my Vic20.
