I need to adjust this VIC's video signal, but the new RCA monitor cable from ebay is certainly nice to have:
I can't wait to fire up Mega-Cart on this 52" screen!
Using a VIC with a real Commodore monitor?

Yeah, I don't know why I was expecting it to render better in 1080p -- if you stand close enough, you can see vertical scan lines really defining each pixel. It's crazy good!gklinger wrote:And how. Yikes.
I have an S-video cable out for the C64, and yes, it's amazing on a regular television set. Not certain it can get any better on a more premium screen though -- it is what it is.
Here's a picture (without flash), vivid, wide zoom, after the adjustment:
With Wide Zoom on, the pixels really retain their chunky appearance, but it looks smart sitting on the couch 10' to 12' away ...
This ends up looking like an big ol' Lite Brite display when you POKE 36879,8

Oh, I am certain of that! This pictured Sony doesn't have an S-video input (only 3 HDMI, VGA, RCA, and antennae), so I couldn't leverage the signal splitting it gives without combining it back with an RCA adapter.gklinger wrote:Trust me, the S-video mod will make a difference.
Besides, I just played Quikman and Omega Fury on it -- crikey, those sprites are large!
