Earlier this year, I was really excited to get all 12 issues of Compute from 1984. I thought I would check out 1983 as well. They eventually came up on Ebay, and I was shocked at the final prices:
Compute! Magazine 1983 - All 12 Monthly Issues $36.00
Compute! Magazine 1982 - All 12 Monthly Issues $48.00
Compute! Magazine 1981 - All 12 Monthly Issues $161.16
WTF! I've never seen them go that high before! Maybe it is having the whole collection in one place, all at one time... I'm not so bothered by missing out. (I had a date and forgot to bid). I am still convinced 1984 was the best year for the magazine. Lucky I got 'em...

You want some DVDs, homeslice?
I'm gonna try to make it to TPUG if 6502dude can make it to do another transaction. If you can do up these, that would be convenient and just let me know the price (but I know your work schedule can be very busy )

Some of my best vintage computing friends are into the hobby mostly for trading purposes, so I don't see anything strange about that. Everyone have their own approach to it. Some people even ask publically how much system/item X is worth, so they know if it is worth buying (from a private source) only to immediately resell.
