Rare Pre-Production VIC-20 Cartridges
Was anyone else watching this auction? I couldn't decide whether nor not to bid and now that the auction is over, I see that it wouldn't have mattered (I wouldn't have bid that much). Auctions are transient so I took some screen captures and snagged the images...
I wish eBay didn't hide the account name of the winning bidder. I would love to contact the winner about dumping the ROMs for comparison with those in circulation Might be some interesting history there.

In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

You never know. It could be someone here already. Spending that much on a handful of proto carts the winner obviously has a definite interest in Commodore and maybe specifically the Vic...here's hoping they are dumped for comparison.

Psst. That's one of the reasons I posted about the auction.Pedro Lambrini wrote:You never know. It could be someone here already.

Wow! I'm glad you had the foresight to grab images of this auction. I haven't been checking eBay lately and I totally missed this.
There's nothing reall new there in terms of titles. But it's interesting to see the look of the pre-release cartridges, especially the blue Commodore label, which I've never seen before.

I bought paddles a while back, mainly for a C64 collection of paddle games a cohort released over at Lemon. I got my Behr Bonz from Eslapion and thought I'd try the paddle version of Clowns. Unfortunately, both my Vics suffer from jerky-character-itis. Such a pain. I still keep the paddles beside my Vic, though, in the vain hope that one day my Vic'll work with them...Jeff-20 wrote:i want the paddles.
As far as the carts go, it is quite interesting to see these things floating around. It's a bit like visiting a virtual museum. I hope we do manage to see some close-up photos sometime.

Thanks god, i'm happy to know that a Denial member won this auction, it will be very interesting to compare pre-production cartridges versions with commercial versions...commodorevic20.com wrote:I bought this lot.
Maybe you are the only one in the world to have these pre-production cartridges, i think that they have a very big value, more then you paid, my compliments

Thanks! I'm happy with what I paid for the lot, my actual bid was considerably higher.nbla000 wrote:Maybe you are the only one in the world to have these pre-production cartridges, i think that they have a very big value, more then you paid, my complimentscommodorevic20.com wrote:I bought this lot.
Great News Everyone! The package has finally arrived & doesn't disapoint! I'll have some high-res photos to share shortly (will likely take me a day or two).
