I only had two carts. Cosmic Cruncher and Raid on Fort Knox. I can't even remember how or why I got them. They must have been Christmas / birthday presents I guess.

Just one - OMEGA RACE! :)

Well, I also had the VIC-1111 expander cartridge - does that count?

Forgive me for taking up so much space to explain this. I'm not going to answer the poll because it's complicated, but I spent years without an accessory, device or cart. I found my original handwritten list of games, so I know the precise order. It was something like this:

VIC 20

(years pass)

Gridrunner

(another year passes)

Omega Race
Pacman
(got both on same day for my birthday. Thanks, Dre)

Then I got a six pack of Tape Games with no tape drive! TORTURE! I would never get to play those tapes as they deteriorated over time. I bought the same pack later on eBay (Vic Synthesizer, Treasures of the Bat Cave, Super Seekers, Alpha Draw, Big Bad Wolf, Crawler). The names were tempting, and I would read the instructions over and over trying to imagine the games. No pictures in the manual.

(years pass)

Super Smash
Tooth Invaders

(many many years pass and I would discover a kid selling games near my house)

Adventureland
Pole Position
The Count
Ms Pacman
Jupiter Lander

After that, many years would pass, and I would discover thrifts stores and ebay to build my current collection.

When did you write your first game? I'm curious about that too.
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

Sorry I'm a touch late to the thread. I had 3 games way back when they were new:

Gorf, Radar Rat Race, Raid on Fort Knox.

Avenger
Mole Attack
Radar Rat Race
Sargon II
Adventure Land
Pirates Cove

I don't remember what order I was given these by my parents though.
Change is inevitable except from a vending machine.

My all time favorite game was Submarine Commander.

I also found that alot of people have the scott adams carts due to the fact that commodore over time sold the entire set with the purchase of a Vic-20.
