Meetup in Ottawa
Hi;
Schema and Ral-clan will be dropping by my place on either Saturday Feb. 21 or Sunday Feb. 22, and if anyone else can make it, you are more than welcome.
I'll have snacks, drinks, and of course a lot of vic stuff around.
And I might get a peek of the mega-cart in action!!!
Hope people can make it!

Speaking of multicarts and Vectrex, you seen these?ral-clan wrote:I'm going to bring a Mega-Cart prototype and perhaps a Vectrex and maybe some other neato stuff.
I'm not doing anything that weekend so I could come up. Heck of a drive though...
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

I'll check my pile-o-stuff. I am pretty sure I have an extra Intellivision I. But how is yours acting up? If I can hear the symptoms maybe I can figure out what's wrong.
By the way, keep the old one for the controllers....the extra one I have might have not great controllers.
Oh---and I think I have a spare INTV motherboard missing the RF modulator. So if it's just a matter of swapping chips we could take them from that.

Does it overheat, causing the system to go blank after about 20 minutes of play? I have an Intellivision 1 of that kind, plus a spare unit which I may pick parts from. I already tried to replace the 7805 voltage regulator on the power supply but no difference. I think the first generation of Intellivision systems was notorious for overheating although you should have observed that more than 25 years ago, not lately.vic user wrote:i guess i will have to fire up my intelli, and play a game or two to show you what's up

it would be cool if you could pop over mika, that's for sure!
you could always say hello via webcam
it is starting to sound like Saturday is the day for the meet up.
what about 13:00?
i want to make sure that there is enough time involved, especially to make it worth their while for the people coming from the GTA
----
and yes carlsson, my intelli tends to heat up something fierce and then wig out.
the problem is, that the game i like to play the most on the intelli (Treasure of Tarmin), takes ages to finish, usually over 12 hours, and with no save feature, that intelli sure gets hot!

here are some directions on getting to my house:
863 Borthwick Avenue
Heading east on the Queensway, you would get off at the St. Laurent off ramp.
The off ramp has three lanes, two for St. Laurent North, and one for South.
You want to be in the middle lane (the right most north lane), which ends at a set of lights.
Turning left at the set of lights, you will now be on St. Laurent blvd.
You want to get into the right most lane, as you will be turning right
onto Ogilvie, which is two sets of lights up.
Continuing north, you will pass St. Laurent shopping centre on your left, and at the second set of lights, turn right onto Ogilvie.
Once on Ogilvie, you will want to get into the left most lane, as you will be
turning left onto Cummings, which is two set of lights up on Ogilvie.
Continuing down Ogilvie, you will turn left onto Cummings at the second set of lights. There should be a chip wagon in a big unpaved parking area, to the right of the lights, and a gas station to the left of the lights.
Turning onto Cummings, continue down the road until you reach the first Stop sign, NOT the set of lights. At the first stop sign, you should see a school diagnonally to your right.
Cummings intersects Gardenvale, at this stop sign. You want to turn left onto Gardenvale.
You will only travel about 10 meters or so, and then you will come across
Borthwick Avenue, and you want to turn right. My house is eight houses down, on the right hand side, just near a "no parking" sign.
