Hi all,
how can I load and play a multi-cartridge (f.e. Outworld *.a0 & *.6000)
in winvice, without using the Vic20GB (Gemus-script) ?
I know GB20 is a great program to archiving & playing Vic-Games.
And of course I use it, too. (not only for the Vic, I use all Gamebases)
But there is also the ECC. Short for Emu Control Center.
With this Programm you can collecting & archiving about 100 old & new
Computer-Systems.
The Programmer "Andreas" (ECC) & "Sebastiaan" (Phoenix) are doing a good Job.
I'm just a Member of ecc and collect infos for the "romdb" , put Screenshots to the Vic20 database (Image-packs). - However......
But the Problem is : You can't use the Gemus-Script with ECC.
At this Time, you can only start "*.prg's" with ECC automaticly, by using a Script incl. "PRGIndo.exe"......
"Phoenix" is just working on a Script, to start all Fileextensions with ECC.
And I think he will do !!!
But of course, he is not a Vic20-Freak, and so I think there will be much trouble to run Multi-Cartridges & Multi-Prg's .
The only way I know, how to use the multi-prg's, is to make a *.d64.....
If someone of you can help a little bit, (if Phoenix needs help) i'll be very gratefull !
btw.
You can also help, to fill the romdb with Info's for Vic-Games.....
I've allready add many Games. But I think there are still "Metadata" - Errors in it. (programmer, publisher, etc.)
Of course, you can also make Entrys for all other Computers, Consoles & Handhelds
At last I wanted to say : ECC isn't a Competition or Opponent to Gamebase.....It's just another Cool Program for all Retro-Collectors !

You have to attach each image to the correct memory space first and then boot/reset the emulator. Directly this involves "attach cartridge image" in the FILE menu of Vice, followed by a soft reset.
Or you want -CARTx command line operation for a hard start of Vice, where x = 2,4,6,A or B regarding the memory location you need.
For example, Pole Position you would need something like...
xvic.exe -cart6 poleposition60.prg -carta polepositiona0.prg
This how the GEMUS script operates, building the command line invisibly.
You DO realise though that I'm about to unleash v0.2 of Gamebase20 very shortly however?!

Hi Mayhem,
Yes, of course I know about your Gamebase20 v.02 !
And I can't wait for it
If you need some Game-Screenshots, feel free to use the Imagepack I've made for ECC.
You can find it on the General-Ecc Website.
Thanks for your help ! Maybe "Phoenix" can use this Info's.
Have you also an idea, how to load "multi-prg's" ?
Think it's the same : using the command line.......
I am only a Retro-Freak, and not a programer....

Yes, I mean these multi-prg's on zimmers.net
I've made a *.d64
Question : Is it better (smaller size) (*.d64=171kb) to put this prg's inside a T64 ? (*.t64=55 kb,... right ?)
and if yes, wich program can I use to make one ?
ähhm....on Zimmers.net I can read :
The loaders require disk device #8, unless otherwise specified.
So, only for *.d64
