Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Behold the VIC-20 emulator for the Spectrum. I do believe we're flattered!
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

Hm, I thought it was this one entered into this year's crap game compo but perhaps a lot of Speccy people are envious of Commodore computers which despite lower resolution can display up to four different colours in a 4x8 square.

Blows my mind! I don't know much about the Spec, but I didn't think that was possible!

I got in touch with James who wrote the "Twenty Commodes" emulator. Opposite of what my expectations were, both he and Simon Owen who did the other emulator are absolutely serious about their motives. That is, the Crap Game Compo entry isn't meant to be the crap joke usually found in the compo, but a real effort to make a VIC-20 simulator or even emulator run on the 48K ZX Spectrum.

There are a few 6502 emulation cores for the Z80 and on the line of programs to be launched are yet more emulators of 6502 based computers. Perhaps these emulators will never become cycle exact but so are not many of the older emulators running on PC hardware.
