I posted in the multi-cart to bring discussion/interest/ideas for the multi-cart board production to the table but backfired turning it to a KIM-1 thread instead
MODS can feel free to move the threads here instead of using a link to the discussion please...
Will try and get a picture up soon. I practically live at my girlfriend's place right now where I don't have my C= stuff, but I'll be at my place at least a couple of nights this week.
I'm glad it's not at your girlfriends place, as there's other buttons you should be pressing over there instead of a old KIM-1 man
Vince says he's working on a 32K expansion.
What has/could be done on a KIM-1 that would require that amount of memory? I know with my PET 4032 the Chess program is the only one that I'm aware of that requires that type of memory...
No. I've thought about getting one once or twice, but I've always figured they're not really worth the money they typically go for. As I've said before, I've never really cared for the "this is collectible, I'll pay whatever it takes to get it and put it on a shelf for display" mentality; I'm more of a "this piece of gear is fun, I'll pay a reasonable price for it so I can take it home and play with it"
I'm a collector first by nature but a Commodore user before becoming a collector
So we'll see which one wins out?
I love the history how these came to be in the early years of computers and cross-reference them frequently to Pinball machines of the era that were also starting out (comparing the different chips and the operations of the two with their similarities/differences):
