Hi Rick,
I hadn't read all the Wikipedia entires before tonight. Seems to be a lot of discussion about kernel vs KERNAL. The latter is the name as I spec'd it. I added a comment to the article which somebody can edit into to text.
Also, I just recalled the Engineering director Jim Kennedy trip to MOS in the fall of 1979. He came back with the VIC chip specs and we discussed making a personal computer out of it. Unfortunately, he was canned as engineering director when Chuck came back in March 1979.
I noticed another acronym weirdness. The TOI stood for "Tool of Intellects" Play on words of Toy Computer instead of Pet Computer. That was Bill Seilers creation. TOI died when they all left to go to Sirius. That was a Serious computer instead of a Vic-20!
