Found some new (old) software..

Post by Victragic »

Hi,

just rescued some VIC software on ebay that I'd never heard of..

'Spellstart' for beginners, published 1983 by Computer Classics.. it seems to be made by an Australian company and part of an educational series.

It's written in BASIC, runs on the unexpanded VIC and has four cassettes in it. (Actually my copy has six, somehow original tapes of programs called 'Junior Maths' and 'Spellers' got included..).. it arrived in a quite impressive and professional 'ring-binder' that held the tapes and instructions.

I will endeavour to save the .tap images and upload to Arma's site, including the instructions / artwork.. although my datasette needs cleaning I feel as I get way too many load errors, even on my own saves..

..am also going to try it out on my 5-year-old who is just starting to learn to read/write, see if it holds her interest.. (I have noticed how she gravitates to the Vic ahead of the other computers, maybe it's the big letters that attract her interest?)
