Cartridge Expander for VIC-1001
From the "What the heck is that thing"? department.

There's a very large expansion unit plugged into the cartridge port. I've seen that in a couple of VIC-1001 photos. Anyone have any details on what it is?

You are indeed correct, it is a VIC-1010.

MORE IMPORTANT than the fact that the above photo shows a VIC-1010 is the fact that it seems to show an OFFICIAL COMMODORE VIC-20 monitor! This is the very FIRST and ONLY confirmation I have ever seen of this piece of hardware in all my years of being involved in VIC-20 history research. It even looks like it has a VIC-XXXX code on it (but is too small to read - possibly VIC-1510).
Does anyone know of a better resolution picture? Was this ever actually marketed?

Great eye! I hadn't even noticed that! Yes, we need better resolution.ral-clan wrote:MORE IMPORTANT than the fact that the above photo shows a VIC-1010 is the fact that it seems to show an OFFICIAL COMMODORE VIC-20 monitor!
