That's great, I love it!

Do you like the game for the moment?

It's so good in its belle epoque taste with a steampunk twist (which is only mildly outlined in the first part), that I stop at every new location and Google it :)

BTW, I guess you own a Balocco and Ghioni telegraph key? Fascinating object indeed!

No, my telegraphic key is a Forcieri system, but it has not been built by this firm. Since I knew that the firm existed and was from Genoa, I thought it would have been fun to use it in the game.

Here is a page I wrote about the game background. To avoid spoilers, you will need the passwords to unlock the different paragraphs. I can anticipate that in the first one there is a picture of my telegraphic station:

I was left alone this evening by wife and daughter, immediately turned on my VIC and... voilà, part one solved :D . I must congratulate Davide once again for the plot, very well written and absolutely interesting, and for having filled every description with a realistic feeling of that era. Looking at places and examining things make you discover new paths and solicit ideas to solve puzzles. You can even smell places and things, and this is another plus.

Congrats also on your complete Forcieri telegraph machine. Oh, and part of the password in Piedmont dialect is genius. I have friends in Turin, always loved that insult

Side note: there's a minor glitch in the interaction with the Harbour Authority officer. Not properly a bug, but after succeeding in the correspondent puzzle, when solicited, the game suggests you the same behavior again and again (should be something like "you already did it" instead).

I take note of that, in the event I release version 1.1 a day or another. I added a "known bugs" section in the background page, so to keep track of them.

Hello!

I updated the digital download of The Queen's Footsteps for the VIC20 to the release 1.1.1.
It includes some bug fixes and correct minor inconsistencies present in version 1.0. I also added some synonyms in places where "hunt the verb" situations were reported.

I got a lovely package in the mail!
Davide and poly.play have done an outstanding job - it looks beautiful, with the cover, the orange disks, the stickers and poster, and the little mirror in a baggie. Feelies worthy of Infocom!

Hearing other peoples copies have started to show up makes me feel better. I am still waiting for my to arrive. I am on the other side of the world so I guess it will take a little longer.

Hi to all!

If someone is interested, I'm working on the translation of The Queen's Footsteps in the Italian language. The game is called I passi della regina and can be freely downloaded here:

The game is complete and I checked it can be finished. I would appreciate some feedback if you spot something strange.
I will probably change some other details, such as the first loading screen (allowing to choose which part to load) that is still in English.

Hi to all!

I decided to release the full source code of The Queen's Footsteps:

https://github.com/DarwinNE/The-Queen-s-Footsteps/

It should work better as a submodule of AWS2C:

https://github.com/DarwinNE/aws2c

Enjoy!
