Whooa! I knew PET 200 is a rebadged 8032-SK and PET 600 is a rebadged 8296-SK (some sources suggest 8096-SK). I didn't know of a rebadged 8296-D and thought if it existed, it would be PET 600-D or something.

Maybe Commodore figured out it was confusing enough with the low-profile CBM-II series B128/256 sold as CBM 610/620, and didn't want to add one more PET 6xx model to add to the confusion. The high-profile (w/ monitor) CBM-II machines are 710/720.

Nice! I miss my PETS (but I had no room for them and had to sell them). I also passed up about four 128-Ds a few years ago (should have bought at least one - they were super cheap). However, yesterday I found a VECTREX with about 6 cartridges at a garage sale for $5 Canadian :) . Never thought I'd find one in the wild.

Last saturday I started to make images of all my PET/CBM software. I'm using an old PC (486-80) that emulates various drives at the same time. As copier I use the copy program found on various demo disks of C= drives (uni????, forgot the whole name as I load it only using uni*) plus a selfmade diskcopy program (Turbo Pascal, sources free).
I release the images after I have scanned them for private files; for example I got a disk with WordPro 3 and some private correspondence on it. You'll understand I have to remove the last.

Thats great prize of Vectrex.. 8)

I have two Vectrex machines + some carts + Light Pen and Sean Kellys Multicart. Multaicart makes life much easyer.

Space problem.. :( I have that too.. Had to move Pet from kitchen a moment ago, when I did cook and use dishwasher.. Dont want steam go inside Pet. Still dont know where I put it.. Now its living at living room floor.. :)

Vic20 is so much easyer.. Those old Commodores are BIG.. Thank God.. i dont have that 8" disc drive.. :D

Yes, those PETs are quite big, but you get everything in one unit. Well, in your case the keyboard is separate, but I'm sure Commodore would've built a unit with integrated keyboard and floppy drives if they had got a big demand for it.
