3d models of cartridges

Post by doug_in_nc »

Hi
There are quite a few 3d models of standard Commodore game cartridges around if you want to make a reproduction of a classic Commodore game, but what if you want to reproduce another manufacturer's style of cartridge? I decided to reproduce some of thoe I have so I can still get the nostalgia kick of the cartridges, but without having to use the originals. I ordered some boards from PCBWay's project section, as linked below and am designing my cases to fit these boards

My aim is to produce cartridge case models both with and without access to the dip switches, jumpers and reset button, Right now I'm just asking if anyone would be interested in these models. If they are, I can post the STL files for everyone who wants to to use as I create them, as well as the actual design files so they can be modified. I started with the UMI design, as you can see below, as it's a very simple case style. All models are designed to clip together, so they might require some fine tuning of the print scaling to get them right on your printer. I will make sure they clip properly on my printer before uploading though. The first image is my first working case, and is clipped not glued.
