WTB: Some kind of word processing software

Post by gazinginward »

Preferably on cassette or cartridge, as I don't yet own a disk drive. Lemme know if I need to provide more information. Thanks for looking!

I see HES Writer (cartridge) come up on ebay pretty frequently, and it's never that expensive.

But also, do you have an SD2IEC? SpeedScript is probably the best VIC-20 word processor, and it's available here:

VIC-20 Projects: wAx Assembler, TRBo: Turtle RescueBot, Helix Colony, Sub Med, Trolley Problem, Dungeon of Dance, ZEPTOPOLIS, MIDI KERNAL, The Archivist, Ed for Prophet-5

WIP: MIDIcast BASIC extension

I would second chysn's vote for SpeedScript. Another good one that you can find a cartridge image for is Write Now! It would be even better if someone could find and scan the manual for it. I have the cartridge for Quick Brown Fox. It's not too bad, but others are arguably better. TechTinkering has a nice overview of word processors both in a web posting and YouTube video:
