VICE 3.6.1 and macOS Ventura 13.0.1

You need an actual VIC.

VICE 3.6.1 and macOS Ventura 13.0.1

Post by JonBrawn »

VICE is messing me about. Or macOS is. Probably macOS.

When I start xvic using the gtk variant, it pops up the usual window with the menu bar across the top.

I CAN click on the Preferences menu item, but if I try to click on Settings... within that menu, the menu closes, and nothing else happens - no settings to mess with. If I use a keyboard shortcut to open Settings..., or cursor down to Settings... and hit enter, the settings dialogue does open.

Now some controls work when I click them, such as setting the machine model to VIC20 NTSC, and some don't, such as clicking on a little triangle in the left pane to drop down the sub-options of that option. Sometimes double-clicking will work for an option that should work with a single click but doesn't.

All of this was working before I upgraded to Ventura.

How do I report this to somebody that might care?

Apple loves to trash their APIs with an OS upgrade - so likely the binaries have to be compiled for ventura.

You can do it yourself fairly easy with "homebrew"
