I tried all possible expansions >24k on Penultimate+ but none worked. The game (obviously) runs perfectly on Vice so it's not a corrupted file.
Maybe something Tapuino related, but other games are being loaded flawlessly; i'll try changing file directory/folder but i don't think will be the final solution.

Am afraid I cannot help you with that.

This looks awesome, but I'm struggling to get it to work on my VIC 20.

I assume +16K means 8kB in block 1 and block 2?
So showing 19967 bytes free upon reset?

I've tried revisions 946 and 881 (since 881 also said Can be loaded with +16K RAM)
Revision 946 seems to just result in a blue screen once loaded?
Revision 881 has a messed-up loading screen that results in garbage once loaded?

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding the memory requirements, I do find RAM in the VIC 20 very confusing!

P.S. I've been playing Pulse! It's amazing! I don't suppose you've ever blogged about how the music streamed from tape works? I wasn't expecting it to work with a real tape but it does!

ATM it needs at least 24K – BLK1-3.

It's open source at https://github.com/SvenMichaelKlose/nipkow with some kind of an explanation and there's a thread about it in this forum here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7416&hilit=nipkow

Nice :) that's an awesome write-up. I was wondering in particular about variable tape speed (sorry nosey)

We should move this to the right thread perhaps. :) It's self-adjusting. 8)

I got around to buying a modern memory expansion for my VIC 20.

The first I've tried, and only thing thus far, is Arukanoido :D (version 946)

It's amazing! It doesn't feel like it should be in any way possible on a VIC 20!
It just flat-out plays too smoothly for a VIC 20 game!

It loads fast from tape as well! Only a couple of minutes?

I played with a NEOS mouse, which maybe made it a little easy.
The game seems a bit generous with the level skips maybe as well.

Do you have any plans to take it any further, or do you consider it a 'complete demo' now?

Got too occupied with regular work to code anything during free time. :(

Now that's two releases to be looking forward to in 2022.

Some "bad" news, I'm afraid: there won't be a cart version of the game. Too much effort and cash would have to go into that, so consider those orders to have been cancelled, please.

Hi everyone! How are you? surely I am late and there is already an answer to this question, however... I am playing version 881 of Arukanoido, and I would like to know where to download the latest version: the link in the first post does not work. Excellent work, however. It works on a real Vis20 (but probably you already know that) with Megacart.

Hi there! Will do it like back in the old days: sell a handful of copies and get pirated (whenever the Universe wants that to happen).

Kinda recovered from Corona's heavy drinking part.

Don't thank me, thank that psychotherapist. And the answer to your question is: no! ;) Quit my job, so this can go on rather quickly after all.

Have a great Sunday!
