Penultimate+ and NTSC

Post by bjonte »

I recieved my Penultimate+ expansion today. I bought it specifically to do software testing on my NTSC VIC20. However, it doesn’t boot. It works on my PAL machine and I tested two other expansions on the NTSC machine plus Jelly Monsters and those worked.

Does anyone here have experience with Penultimate+ and NTSC to know if it’s working or not? The device web page claims NTSC compatibility.

This proved to be a power supply issue. The CPU gets 4.7 V when the cartridge is plugged in.

I assume from your second message that you have solved the issue, but for what it's worth, the Penultimate + works flawlessly for me on NTSC hardware.

Thanks!

I’ll be attempting to replace the capacitors in the machine as a first step to see if that brings up the CPU voltage.
