Denial Account Approval?

I'm in contact with somebody who's been trying to join Denial. He says he created an account, and that he's now waiting for approval.

Is there actually an administrative approval required to join the forum? If not, is there someone who could check on his account? He's unable to log in.

There is no admin approval, just a verification mail.
