Rules for Announcement posts

Post by Mike »

The Announcement section is a strongly moderated part of the Denial forum. The posts in here are intended as reference for years to come. A little bit more effort thus is expected from people who do their announcements here:

The posts in the Software releases threads are supposed to be formatted in a style that has been largely adopted over the last years; with fields noting name, author, system requirements, short description, etc., with up to two medium sized screenshots (title and in-game screen), a direct download link and a link to a separate discussion thread in the Games or Programming section.

Please check the appearance in both PC-based browsers and on mobile devices. Oversized announcements and the ability to skim fast over an announcement thread don't go together. If you want to show larger screenshots and/or "box art", put these into the accompanying discussion thread.

An announcement should NOT be just a copy of the OP in the Games or Programming section, or be posted months, or possibly even years after the actual release. Release date is the date you write the announcement!

New announcement posts put into threads of previous years will be moved to the current year without further notice.

"Announcements" not adhering to the style laid out above and discussion/non-announcing posts will be moved (i.e. expelled) to the appropriate section (Games or Programming).

Threads in the other sections will drop down to the second and following pages in due course, but the threads in the Announcement section are supposed to stay there for a long time to come.

PLEASE KEEP THEM IN ORDER TO RETAIN THEM AS USEFUL REFERENCE. THANKS.
