A tribute to Salmon Run / Trout

For guys like me that love these games (picture of my avatar)
i've done a disk with a lot of version and variant.

Salmon Run (C) 1983 Synapse Software
- Original version + 1 file to load it from disk
- Modified 2 file version for unexpanded VICs (Not for datassette)
- Modified 3 file version for unexpanded VICs (for all drives)
- Modified 1 file version for 3k expanded VICs (for all drives)

Trout (C) 1982 Sirius Software (different title screen)
- Modified 2 file version for unexpanded VICs (Not for datassette)
- Modified 1 file version for 3k expanded VICs (for all drives)

Sguish (Italian hacked version with instructions and different title screen)
- Modified 2 file version for unexpanded VICs (Not for datassette)
- Modified 1 file version for 3k expanded VICs (for all drives)

Note: SGUISH, the italian hacked version of Playgames present on Edicola 64, is the only one that says that to start the game from the main screen you must press F5 or F7 respectively for BW TV or color TV but the only difference is that with F5 the salmon is yellow and with F7 the salmon is red.

*** 2021 update !!! ***
New disk image file with 8k versions for all variant with PAL flickering fix on top and bottom, plus a trainer version for Salmon Run, no any changes for old unexpanded/3k versions prg/tap.
The 8k version for Sguish includes the italian instructions.

Great job!

it's nice to see this game again, a lot of childhood memories comes back to my mind. I remember it as "squish" (with Q), appeared firsly on an early number of the magazine "program". I remember it was at the end of the tape and that it was looong to load, but worth waiting for!

This game is still amazing and I vaguely recognize how it's technically done. I mean the scroll... how is it possible? I also see there is a sort of raster trick on top and bottom of the screen. And the salmon, it looks like a true sprite!

Just a little fix on the melody when the game finishes.

All versions now are fixed, use links on the previous post to get the files.

After 15 years a new disk image file with 8k version for all variants, first post updated.
The main update is a fix for flickering on top and bottom for PAL machines (8k versions only) and a trainer version for Salmon Run (8k only).

Thanks to Miklós for his "private lessons" on how raster lines works on Vic-20!
