I usually give away tapes with some of my projects. The variations in drives always makes it extremely challenging. I usually convert the PRG to WAV, and then record the audio directly from my computer to a little Radio Shack tape deck. One at a time.

Good tip! I have a couple old tape decks I could use. My back-up C2N arrived today. Other than not being able to fast-forward, it works fine (in terms of saving, loading, and rewinding). It can read tapes saved on my original C2N just fine*. So I'm thinking I'll be fine just saving from my real VIC to a real C2N.

* My childhood C2N is one of the hardy original "portrait" style machines. It's outlived at least eight VIC-20s and at least two Commodore 64s. It's the most reliable piece of electronic equipment of any kind that I've ever owned.

HI
If you have 2 datasettes this 'hack' may come in rather handy for perfect copies.

That's certainly interesting. The process I wound up with is simple. I load the program from tape, and then save it to another tape four times, twice on each side. I figure that multiple copies will improve the lifespan of the product for my customers.

I also have a dual cassette deck for a component stereo. I haven't tried it yet because, as you would expect, my sales volume is pretty low.

I'd guess sales quantity would be low so this method may have been better as if would give u an exact digital copy as some more modern tape player will affect the recording levels.

I'm lovin WAX btw.
