I've managed to acquire a Eurostile keyboard, unfortunately someone has botched repairing one of the function keys
I'm trying to work out how best to repair it. I have two thoughts.
1. rebuild the "cross head" with epoxy, for this I need a form in place of the plunger top and something as a mold release so it's not permanently stuck
2. create a "cross head" insert and glue it in the key cap
For both these I really need to build a jig to get the alignment in 3D correct.
I don't have a 3D printer so any solution will have to be done by hand. Any better thoughts how I can do this?

Play Doh? Something that will mold over the cross, then dry hard to provide support, but won’t stick to the shaft.

Air dry modelling clay perhaps? I'm struggling to think of a way to create a jig. I could use another key, back-to-back, but then need a cross-shaped shaft to form the hole in the key.
