Power brick differences.
Howdy. I got a vic recently and tested it and it worked, I put it away and recently I got it out to begin testing my game.. however now I'm getting black screen of death! I'm testing components using a friends c64 and looks like my video cable and tv are working anyways. They have different power bricks.. a black one for vic and grey on for c64... I've attached a pic, can I use these interchangeably to see if it's the power? I am reading the black screen diagnosis txt and tried tightening plug contacts, will try reseating things today, and gonna grab a multimeter to try and find culprit too. I know this super common but if anything else I'm missing? Thank you in advance!!!

so i won't try swapping out the power bricks, i tried shift/runstop and it didnt do anything.
i guess my next stop is reseating the ICs?

I guess you've found http://personalpages.tds.net/~rcarlsen/ ... /vic20.txt
There's a high likelihood it's the VIC itself, but without having a working replacement to exchange it with you'll need use a meter/scope to test the other possibilities.
