I'm using them together with BMC64, a RPI and a couple of Arduino clones, after reflashing them to act as hid devices, translating what comes out from the original keyboards.
To me this is the best experience so far, since it combines the true feeling of the real keyboard and case, together with some modern handy features offered by BMC64 (the old friend Vice being under the hood).
Atm I'm waiting for a cheap gamepad and a DB9 connector to arrive, in order - as once upon a time ral-clan kindly told - to use also the old joysticks (e.g. the "Albatros", yes with one "s"... and its nice micro switches https://freeimage.host/i/albatros-v3.HhsRKN).
Anyone of you is using this kind of setup? It's my preferred one, so far (except for 100% original combos, of course, but this way I can use less frequently the original hw) and I suggest you to try it if you like.
