Vic on internet. :)

Post by Devlin »

Hello everyone,
I built a 7404 Hex rs232 box. Well the people who do this are all on C64's or C128's.
Well I built the box and it worked on my Vic 20!
Suppose I am the first to telenet on a Vic 20.
If possible would anyone else do this? Or goto bbses on a Vic 20?
Or to top it off have a Vic 20 bbs program?
Would you do this?

Yeah, I wouldn't mind having a Vic20 BBS for schitz and giggles!
Does it use dial up or can you route it through a network??

Congrats! It's good to see people still interested in hardware projects.

You may be beat in the "first to" to category for telnet with a Vic-20

Leeee has neat project online:

For connecting to BBSes, I built TTL to RS232 interface back in early mid 1980's with 1489 & 1488 chips. I used to connect to local BBSes with a surplus 110bps modem.

A couple of months ago I connected via telnet session to C64 BBSes with a Kaypro 10. Seems there are lots of ways to keep this older hardware connected.
