Some keys not working on VIC-20

Post by EddiesTech »

Hi there,
Only the keys 6ERUIFGJKLVB work on my Vic-20. I have taken it apart and cleaned all the keys (and retrobrited the case but I don' think that matters :D). I have no idea why those keys work and why the others don't, so I was wondering if you could help.

Any replies are greatly appreciated,
Eddie

Seems like the 6522 responsible for scanning the keyboard is faulty. As mrr19121970 suggested, try swapping the two units you can find inside a VIC-20.

This may result in a computer which will give you a black screen.

Replacements are still being made. You can find W65C22N6TPG-14 on www.mouser.com
Be normal.
