Canadian Vic-20 Question

Post by vicassembly »

I have this VIC-20 that has not been altered. It has dark gray function keys and I have not seen this variant before. Does anyone have any knowledge about the difference in function key colors? I've included a few pictures.

Most likely it just got a new C64 keyboard later in life.

Yes, likely a late VIC-20 made when the C64 was being produced. Commodore just used C64 keyboards (with the grey function keys) inside new VIC-20s very late in the production life of the VIC.

I can also confirm that there was nothing too different about the Canadian-made VIC-20s, other than the bilingual label on the bottom and a different set of serial numbers than the US-made ones.
