General User Guide for Amiga Modtracker-like Programs

I was wondering if there was a general reference for modtracker programs in the style of those on the Amiga. I have been wanting to learn how to use them, but I haven't been able to find a good reference.

Note: I don't have an Amiga, but I do have programs like those found on the Amiga.

Hi Gorf, which program do you mean? As you probably did read here on denial, I‘m working on somethink similar...
not a modtracker but 4bit sample tracker, see on my recent postings. I‘m still needing some help to that.

I have MilkyTracker, which is not exactly like those found on the Amiga, but I believe it is similar

your best bet is to load some mod file and just play around, its pretty simple... you have an orderlist that defines in which order the patterns are played, then you have the patterns with notes on each row, and additional numbers which translate to instruments (samples) and effects. as for how the effects work, google for "protracker mod format" (original mods) or "fasttracker xm format" (milkytracker does both afaik)
