Recovered my first non basic Vic Game

Post by ViperSan »

Hi friends
After wading through many of my old discs..
I managed to recover (amongst other things) ..the very first non basic game I ever wrote using vicmon.
Its a sort of 'depthcharge' variation called INVINCIBLE
..and fits in the basic 3k vic.
If anyone is interested in seeing it ...let me know and I'll upload the .tap file I created from the recovered data.

I really enjoyed it!.... I think for a first attempt it is very good, even if it was a second/third attempt! :)

So it was a Mr Micro game?

Does this mean that the game is previously unreleased?.... If so, i've been after covering a Vic 20 game for a Games That Weren't feature i'm doing for Retro Gamer magazine... and i'd happily do a write up on it?

Hi fgasking ..
Yes indeed it was my first release via MrMicro ..
and yes it did go on sale ...though I'm told it didn't sell particularly well back then.
Odd really as I didn't think it was a particularly unplayable game.
..I suspect that might have been on account of simillar titles available at that time...
..but yes it did sell ...and I did receive some royalties from it.
Technically I suppose MrM still has the rights to the game ...but since he is no longer in business ... and he did eventually stop promoting it ...I see no problem in sharing with you guys ...since I am the author ..

I'm trying to locate the origional cassette insert that went with it ...but I'm not getting my hopes up ...
...it was a long time ago

Ok ViperSan, thats cool :)... I'm glad you got it released anyway :)

I'll keep an eye out for an original of it, and send a scan if I find it.
