Strange-looking C64

Looks like a C64C or something, but with a different case:

Anyone knows were this case came from?

Australian version sold in some electronics store chain, iirc.

Based on what I've found, it seems that when Commodore released the C64 C (with the new case and the new cost reduced slim board) Australian manufacturer Micro Accessories released a replacement case for the older version of the C64. So this is not an Australian version of the C64, rather a standard C64 in a replacement case.

I have one like this. 20 quid new back then. Now they are considered rare & collectable.

I guess there aren't that many of them. I saw one for the 1st time a month ago in Toronto.

Only saw photos of these cases before.

they are not *that* rare... a bit uncommen perhaps, but they pop up every now and then
