I have acquired a C128DCR and a regular 128 recently. They are not pretty but they are fully functional and clean inside.
I acquired the regular to use as a donor for the keyboard section as the C128D was without its original keyboard.
I was having a hard time finding a suitable cable to use for my project..but eventually found one with the correct orientation on the connector side of the 128D chassis. I will just cut and splice the end at the Keyboard side as required.
But.... just thought I would ask if anyone has ever done something similar and could direct me to another suitable cable idea?
This is the only place I could find something remotely suitable.. I wanted a Right Angle DB25 that sort of approximates the original C128D Keyboard connector...

Edit... Here are two links to pics of my acquisitions...

Re: C128D and C128 Frankenstein Project
Update: Nevermind....
The curse of Ebay has struck again and I have now acquired a proper original 128D Keyboard that is very clean and NOT stained by the Sun!
My "new" idea for the flat former donor 128 will now be to leave it intact as intended but to make it jet BLACK in colour and eventually pair it with a modern 20" Dell LCD VGA after sorting out the RGBi to VGA conversion issues.
