Mac,

sorry to hear of your bad luck with the disk crash and poor management.

Your process (no backups) was bad not you.

Good management should always look to help solve the problem, not disbelieve the employee and compound it.

Welcome to the forum and all the encouragement we can give you to create a modern release for the Vic20.

Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding!
Sounds interesting - I don't suppose you still have the backups...?

Welcome Mac, and thanks for clearing things up there. If HES thought you were lying and didn't give you more time, I wonder how long Tom had to make his version then?! :?

MacSenour wrote:It was the LAST 3 days of work. The game was complete. I will say not NEARLY as pretty as Tom's, but it was MUCH more faithful to the original. The original map had a glitch, and I mapped the glitch. I had worked for MONTHS and just needed to finish the last big boss. I was DONE, and the disk crashed taking it all away. I had backups, but missing the last 3-4 days and the deadline was the next morning. No time to recreate the lost code. HES thought I was lying and gave me no extra time.
Thank you for the valuable historical information regarding this popular VIC-20 game.

I noted on Melon64 there are considerable differences between the C64 version and the VIC-20 version. The levels are completely different.
