NTSC VIC20 Diagnosis Cartridge

Post by mrr19121970 »

I bought the 'Penultimate Cartrige' v2.2 from Tynemouth. Here I have 3 diagnosis carts on 2 for PAL (not sure what the differences are) and 1 for NTSC.

Before I was trying to run the diagnosis for an NTSC machine, and was annoyed to find a BAD on ROMCHECK. Long story short, now on 4 out of my 5 NTSCs and the can't all be bad. This draws me to the conclusion is the ROMCHECK is bad on this cart image.

Does anyone recommend a program that I can run to check the ROMs? and also recommend a working diagnosis cart image for NTSC.

Ok. There are too many dip switches. I needed to.activate 12 567 9 for the cart. I forgot 2 which meant that there was no extra memory activated. I guess the cart needs this, but doesn't mention that it is not there. Just gives false positives. All working now.

My question is still valid though. AnyOne recommend any further rom check utilities??

You could use a VERIFY with three *.prg files that contain CHAR, BASIC and KERNAL ROM. ;)

Here's a small programm I wrote for a soak-test checksum of the BASIC ROM.
