NTSC VIC20 Eurostile keyboard

Post by mrr19121970 »

I bought on eBay.com a 5v/9v NTSC VIC20 with Eurostile keyboard. It came CIB and had Donkey Kong and Mosaic RAM Master 32 with it too. I asked the seller to wrap it carefully so the contents and box would arrive undamaged. Sadly the 2 carts (the Mosiac is about the size and weight of a house brick) were put loose in the box, ontop of the keyboard. These rattled from Texas with eBay global delivery all the way to me in Germany. The case was cracked, the holding pegs broken off and some of the keycaps sheared off too. To add insult to injury, the old girl was also DOA with a black screen. The mainboard was fully socketed except the 2 VIAs.

I just desoldered the 6502, KERNAL & VIC for testing. 6502 and KERNAL good, but 6560-101 is dead. For me this is not economically repairable (28 gbp from Ian).

A very sad day...
