Laing Marketing (Toronto)

Post by freshlamb »

Just curious if anyone has a complete list of the games available from Laing Marketing (probably the Canadian distributor for Romik Software and others as Skyhawk is listed as Quicksilver).

In the dying days of the V20 I aquired as many as I could afford of these inexpensive games. I own Galaxia, Operation Gandemede, Skyhawk, Quadrant, Animal Magic, Time Destroyers, Zorgon's Kingdom, Sword of Hrakel. There seemed to be at least 20 games listed on the inside flap of the cassette.

I know of at least 18 of which I own 17.
Alphoids, Atom Smasher, Blockbuster, Galaxia, Insector, Martian Raider, Mind Twisters, Multisound Synthesizer, Operation Ganymed, Pedes and Mutants, Power Blaster, Sea Invasion, Shark Trap, Skyhawk, Space Attack, Space Escort, Space Fortress, Starbase Defender
Many of the games were also released by Romik and Atlantis Software.
Adding the 5 in your list that is not in my list, I arrive at 23.
There are probably more.

Operation Ganymed has a SRC-227 ID.
This may indicate that they did at least 27 releases.
The problem is that many publishers used the same id series for more than one system. In this case, I think they actually did at least 27 releases for the vic-20.
