A couple of HAM cartridges

Post by vicassembly »

I have grown into a major collector over the past couple of years.

I recently added a couple of cartridges:

Hamtext for the Vic-20 (by Kantronics)
AEA-SOFT CP-1/Vic-20 Ver 1.3

I have no idea how I would ever use them but they are cool as hell.

Interesting! Never heard of them. Can you post some pictures? Do you have boxes?

Hamtext (and to a lesser degree, AEA) have been discussed in the past. For video, go to

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvtqxZvCLQs

and

http://blip.tv/bios/commodore-64-vic-20 ... io-4237891

For the discussions on it here, do a search for Hamtext, and you'll find more and links to photos.

Thanks! I see it's amateur radio stuff (hence the name  ), so not my cup of tea, but yes, "they're cool as hell"! I like these retro-tech interfacing electronics.

BTW, the manual pics on imageshack and the blip.tv video are not available.

Very odd. The video was added about a year ago, and it worked fine. Time to contact Blip.tv !

After a few days of back-and-forth messages to them, Blip.tv has corrected the problem with the video file! You can once again look at "Commodore 64, VIC-20, and Ham Radio" at its new location at

That would be correct, here is a picture of it I found on the net from an old sales listing from 2007:
