Just about ready to share my first game written back in 1986 at the tender age of 15! - whats the best way to share the file?

What do you recommend?

If you've got your own webspace, use that.

Or, if you don't have one, I could host it here.

Why is this a .VSF file? I'm not sure what to do with it. Could you make a PRG file?

I just went into VICE and saved it as a snapshot- does it not work?

How do I make a .prg file?

All I do with the .VSF file is load up VICE and click SNAPSHOT > Load Snapshot image.

Works fine on my 2PCs.

For the benefit of Gamebase20, I'd prefer TAP, D64 or PRG files here ;)

Yeah, I get a "cannot read snapshot" message. PRG is the best way to make a program portable. I'm really looking forward to playing this.

I don't see an option to save as a PRG or a D64 file- is it an option on VICE?

Just emailed you the TAP file.

It contains PACMAN and SCRAMBLE.

The loaders contain the instructions- get back to me if you have any questions.

I've also got some more original games I've created - I'll send them to you when I managed to load them and save them.

Hi- have you not managed to get it to work?

I downloaded it- saved it to desktop- started up VICE

Then in VICE i went into File> autostart tape/disk image- then click on either PACMAN or SCRAMBLE- this will load the loader - you'll need to type RUN and hit return (on scramble the cursor color is white- an old copy protection tip).

Anyway, the loader will run and auto run the main program which should load up for you to try.

Hope this works for you- worked fine for me.

Cheers -thanks for hosting it!!

Just notice that the cursor color on PACMAN is white too- so just type RUN when the tape counter stops and the loader will run.

I've come this far! - get back to me if you can't get them to run!

I think the issue is that if you attach the TAP in Vice and just try to LOAD the games normally, then the emulator finds nothing; evidently the transfer process was not 100%. If you do click on the individual files they will load however, as you said.

Anyhow, I've extracted the relevant programs in question and separated them into individual files per game. You can download the archive here. All I need now is a full name to put them into GB20, and an approximate year when you wrote them ;)
