I asked him if his price was correct?

His response....

It is, it's one of the rarest software titles around period (not just for VIC), is also neccesary for completeness in one of the most collectible series, the Ultima series. Usually goes from $1800-3500 if anything other than just the cassette, very rarely shows up, last was over a year ago, %1875 I think, cassette and box, no manual.

It's way overpriced... loose tapes have gone for a few hundred in the past, so a manual isn't worth over a thousand heh. The last complete copy didn't make what he is asking...

So, what happens to overpriced items? Do they just reposting it? Are we going to be seeing this one on the market for the next few years? I think pride keeps these guys from lowering the price. No one wants to admit they're wrong. :P

Well, this is the second time he's put it up (no change in price) so we'll have to see...

But if it came with a complete-in-box VIC 20, datasette, RAM expansion, monitor, and all the cabling -- with free shipping -- it won't even get a nybble.

Even with "pride", just start it at $200 with a buy it now at $2500.

I am a little weary paying that big of a price for a cassette tape. I mean how easily would it be to have somthing like that fabricated? Also, the box and manual is a must for an item of this value.

I just looked at completed auctions. This guy is giving eBay a lot of money by reposting this over and over.

What I really find hillarious is that he has the audasity to charge shipping. You think for a price like that, he would charge no shipping and deliver the thing in person.

Take a look at his auctions now. He is charging $1,700 for some early release of Kings Quest. Totally crazy to pay that much for a game.
